Born and bred in Los Angeles, then forged in the fires (and ten winters) of New York, your humble blogger likes to get around. Having explored over thirty countries across five continents, I am putting fingers to keypad to relive the old and document the new.
Along the way, I got deep enough into the points and miles game that I became the resident expert among family and friends. I hope the content here, together with the tremendous resources available elsewhere, helps you achieve your wanderlust dreams.
Ultimately, I seek to nurture the explorer in all of us by writing about more than just the touristic elements of travel – how to go there, where to stay, what to photograph. I want to get to the heart of the experiences that make travel ultimately worthwhile. I want to capture and share the moments and hours and days that refresh us, engage us, humble us, challenge us and ultimately change us.
This not an altruistic endeavor. While I hope my experiences inspire and bring joy to my readers, it is, in part, by the process of writing and sharing that I am ultimately saved from Thoreau’s view of the quiet desperation of the masses. This is the song in my heart.
So thank you, dear reader, for sharing your time with me. Whether your trail takes you to remote corners of existence or indulgences at the most exclusive properties among the jet set. Here is to following your road around the next bend.
